This evergreen tropical vine native to Mexico and Central America is well-known for its distinctive massive heart-shaped leaves with natural holes (fenestrations) and deep lobes, giving it loads of eye-catching personality and an instant statement plant appearance. These appear as the plant develops. The leaf holes eventually become open, progressing toward the edges as leaves mature, explaining one of the plants common names: split-leaf philodendron. Monstera deliciosa is an excellent focal specimen in any room and can be trained to climb or trail over a bookshelf or windowsill. It can grow up to 10 feet tall indoors, adding a lush, tropical feel to any space, putting on 1-2 feet a year.
