The Oyster plant (also know as Moses in a Cradle/Boat) is best known for it’s bright multicoloured foliage. It features bright green, often striped leaves, that have bright purple undersides. The leaves grow directly from the base, giving it a lush, full look.

Care

General Maintenance:This plant is extremely low maintenance. It likes to be slightly rootbound, so don’t rush to repot it. Trim off any dead leaves as needed. Propagate easily with cuttings.

Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15-26 Celsius. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.

Light:Bright indirect light is ideal. Can tolerate some shade. Direct sun can scorch the leaves.

Watering:Water once every 7-10 days, then allow the soil to dry out almost entirely before watering again. Ensure your pot has proper drainage. This plant enjoys being misted as well.

Soil:Any well-draining potting mix works well.

Fertilizer:Fertilize with a balanced houseplant fertilizer once every 3 weeks in the spring and summer.
